The capital Bologna with the famous university was founded by Etruscans.

 - on the east you will find the famous cost of Adriatic Riviera with the known holiday centum Rimini. 
- on the north the river Po
- on the south-west Apennine mountains.
- on the south you will find San Marino - independent country.
In Emilia Romagna you will find a lot of culinary tradition like "Parma Ham", Bologna is known mortadella and Ferrara for its salame.
