The
church ST. MARIA DEL CARMINE you will find in Piazza del
Carmine, close to the Piazza Pitti. The church was begun in 1268
when the Romanesque style was starting. In the 1771 was completely
burn in fire. Between 1771 and 1775 was rebuilt in a rather
grandiose Baroque style by Giuseppe Ruggieri and
Gulio Mannaioni.
The ground plan of the church is Latin cross opening to the
numerous side-chapels.
The BRANDACCI CHAPEL, remaining from the fire was built at he end
of the 14th century.
Is decorated with frescos and between other there is also Eva and
Adam from the Garden of Eden. |
