In ancient maps the lake was indicated " Lake of Perugia " . This expression  underline the importance of this place.
It  is said, that  if you would like to discover all tones of the green color you have to  come to see the nature in Trasimeno. 
The lake - 126 km2 not exceed 6 m deepness.
