MANTUA

The Origin of Mantua can be traced back to prehistoric times. Numerous settlements were founded in this territory, by the Etruscans first
and the Gaul afterwards, until Mantua become
a Roman Colony

Mantua was probably founded by Etruscans .

Palazzo Ducale
The complex which is generally called the 
Ducal Palace consists of a series of buildings, dating to different periods, which were joind together in the course of the thirteenth to seventeenth centuries.

Duomo of San Pietro
The present facade was built between 1756 
and  1761 by the Roman architect Nicolo Baschiera.
