Syracuse was one of the most important colonies of the Magna Graecia and according 
the reliable sources was funded by Corinthian settlers  in 734 B.C.
Syracuse is a city of art and great archelological interest.
GREEK THEATRE  goes back to the 5th century BC.
ROMAN AMPHITHEATRE dates from 1st century BC.
TEMPLE OF APOLLO - is considered to be the oldest of the peripheral Doric temples in SIcili
( 6th century BC)
