Umbria
is one of the small territory in Italy (8,45 square km)
situated in the central Italy in the Apennines. The region takes it s
name from the Umbria of Roman times. Occupied by the Umbrian in
ancient times, later fell to the Etruscans and then the Romans. During
the 16th century Umbria came under the control of the papacy.
Umbria is the territory covered by forest, rich for the streams of
water,
lakes, hills where there are not missing the mountains over 2000 m.
Umbria is not rich only for its beautiful nature,
fascinating panorama, but first of all with its history, small towns built
on the upper places.
Umbria of today is as well known with its Bethlehems
during the Christmas time especially in Assisi.
